Fresh Start Women's Foundation and the Women's Resource Center is available for any woman ready to improve an aspect of life; whether you are surviving or abundantly thriving, this organization may offer just want you want or need.

Max and the Diaper Fairy

If you hurry, right now you can catch the Diaper Fairy at Brilliant Sky Toys & Books in Ahwatukee! She is reading her story and spreading (edible) fairy dust for toddlers who are ready to give up their diapers and share them with the children of the world who need them.

Melissa Hart is the local author of Max and the Diaper Fairy. It is a story about Max - a little boy who is ready for "big boy underwear". Empowered Max decides to give up his diapers, donate them to babies around the world and accept the big boy underwear that the Diaper Fairy brings during her magical appearance. This story offers parents a positive tool to help with potty training and it also shares a message of toddler empowerment coupled with altruism; there truly is a diaper shortage and diaper banks around the world are in need of diapers for children.

If you like mashed potatoes or potato salad, then this tip is for you. My friend, Kim A., sent me this video link showing MaryAnne, from Gilligan's Island, peeling potatoes without using a peeler. I just tried it with a sweet potato and it worked great!

Road Trip to Bisbee

If you are hoping for a romantic weekend or a family adventure (are both possible?), Bisbee is a fun place to go. The town offers art, trinkets and good food with hardly a chain in sight. There are rumors of ghosts, a colorful history, great architecture and the Queen Mine is open for tours hosted by former miners.

This was our family's first memory making trip of 2010 and Grandma & Grandpa joined us, too. All of us found something of interest in Bisbee ... will Bisbee be listed on your "fun calendar" in 2010?
